Lunch at Ladurée

We had a quick lunch at Ladurée today and were really impressed with their high chair!!! It's the first high chair that RayRay actually sat back and relax! I guess it's because it's quite 'enclosed' and snugged!

checking out the new high chair!

love the design

It looks rather comfy

Oink Oink

Um hum, that's right! You are looking at a PIG! But it's not just any other pig; the ordinary stereotype. I saw this pig while I was in Taipei two weeks ago and I was stunned by the skin colour! If you look closer, its body has a large black swath while the rest of the skin is pink with two beautiful grey bands.

Since then, I've tried to research the name/breed of this pig but the best answer I have come up with so far is that it is called miniature pet pig. Please do let me know if anyone knows THE real name of it.
Apparently, this type of pig doesn't just have the 'look' but it smells like milk! As it is the year of pig, miniature pet pigs have became one of the most popular pets to have in the Far East. Most of us know that pigs are actually very hygienic creatures, according to its owner, the pig would stand by the door all day long waiting for the owner to get off work and it would never ever rest on the streets. As a matter of fact, the pig has it's very own blanket and that's the only place where the pig would rest and sleep on! So it seems that pigs are not just clean but very smart too! According to research, pigs are smarter than dogs. They are, in fact, among the smartest of all mammals!
Oh and did you know that pigs do not actually have functional sweat glads, therefore the way they cool themselves is by using water or mud during hot weather. Hence the old saying of 'sweat like a pig' isn't exactly accurate!

Hey, isn't it wonderful that we learn something new everyday?!

We HEART Dubai

YES, I am now back but NO I wish I was still in Dubai!!! We had a magnificent time there and I definitely didn’t expect to be back to the miserable unseasonably wet and cold weather! From a forty-degree-glorious-sizzling-hot Dubai to a fourteen-degree-damp-rainy London!

We absolutely loooooved Dubai! Having said that, we only stayed there for three nights so it was probably all very wonderfully marvellous but hey that would do! We can’ wait to go back there again! In fact, we are planning to go back for Christmas, to enjoy the white sand beach and the superb Jumeirah Mina A Salam!

I will try to update all the fun we had as soon as I get the laundry, tidying-up, and work done!!!

Moody Me

Okay, I need something or someone to cheer me up!
I’ve been feeling damn miserable since yesterday and I just can’t hack it anymore.

It’s not that time of the month in case you ask.
It’s nothing to do with work.
It’s nothing to do with domestic issues.

There is just something on my chest and I really want to get it off me but only if I know what it is and how!

I will go to yoga class today and see if it helps or else I will have to seek other alternatives before I lose it! and I am praying that won’t happen since I am collected, composed and calm…well, most of the time.

Yoga Rugs

I sweated buckets in today’s yoga class and so it was the first time I found the mat slippery.

Just did a bit of research and thought I might actually give cotton mats/rugs a try since it’s actually the traditional India way to practice yoga. They are recommended especially for ashtanga yoga well, any sweaty practice really as they absorb sweat. Rod luvie, you might want to invest in one of them.

I am looking forward to the weekend as we are having our very first company BBQ!

Bandha Worked For Me Today

After two weeks' food indulgence and lack of exercise, I was actually quite surprised with myself in today's yoga class. My hamstrings were tighter than usual, which was normal, but I wasn't feeling as tired as I expected. However, I wasn't able to do Utpluthee - well, I did but only for 5 breathes which was rubbish. On the bright side, I think I kind of got the hang of Vinyasa In by landing on the top of my feet and not getting bruises!! Thanks to BANDHA!

The other thing we learned today was when we do Vinyasa Out, we should ideally get straight into Chaturanga but since it takes practice; we will just do the plank for now.

I am Back

I am now back and I apologise for not updating my blog for a while and I was so busy and got completely wasted the day before I left that I didn't even put up a notice (as if there are any customers, but still...) that the cafe would be closed while I was away.

I promise I will upload photos and update my trip as soon as I have time.

My New Look

A big thanks to my dearest Rod/aka bidarlah who updated the new look of my blog! I was almost in tears when he did it because I realised that we must still 'connect' in some way even though we haven't seen each other for so long and he is in the distant Bandar Seri Begawan and some how he chose something randomly, which was exactly something that I'd been looking for!
Big kisses and hugs, luvie!

29-03-2007

I was hit by a flu virus out of no where and was completely flat out yesterday.

However, as a dedicated individual as I am, I still managed to get my arse to work today even though I am feeling as rough as an old rug.

I know it wasn’t exactly a wise thing to do but I had an über venti soya latte to kick off my day as I just can’t seem to start work without my usual dose of caffeine. I look completely washed out but at least I made a bit of an effort!

Ruster keeps telling me that the reason I am not well is because I don’t eat meat! He said that a piece of nice, rare steak will just do the trick! Hahahaha, as if!

Anyway, no yoga for me for the rest of the week as I can barely lift my arms!

p.s. one good thing is that one of my trousers became rather loose when I put them on this morning, I don’t know if it’s just me being dehydrated or have I actually lost a bit of weight! (perhaps 0.2 kg! hahaha)

It is Finally Back

At long last that I was able to get into Marichyasana D again! I was also able to grab both of my toes firmly when I am in Baddha Padmasana…very pleased with the progress indeed! But then perhaps my body was just more ‘in tune’ yesterday and sometimes you just can’t push yourself too hard.

I am home alone till next Thursday before taking off for holidays therefore have been planning some ‘mini activities’ (i.e. hopefully will do some readings, practice more yoga and also watch whatever I want to watch on the telly!!! I know it might sound sad but hey a woman has to try to entertain herself!) for the evenings ahead of weekend when my dearest Joce is back and also WN’s ‘home coming’!

Zaytun

Bought a tub of marinated olives stuffed with very hot small red chillies and some marinated crunchy garlic today .. yum!
Now I just need to get a nice bottle of red and my Friday evening is settled.

Olives are rich in vitamins (particularly vitamin E), minerals, monounsaturated fat etc. Though I am not sure if the marinated ones still have those but then I guess they are probably better than crisps.

No special plans for the weekend, just want to chill out and do a bit of shopping in preparation for my trip in three weeks time! (Yeh, really really can’t wait!)

Hope everyone has a fab weekend!
